Ingredients
For the Chicken Fajitas
- 1½ lbs (700 g) chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 lime
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
For Serving
- Warm tortillas
- Guacamole
- Salsa
- Lime wedges
- Sour cream (optional)
Instructions
1. Season the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine chicken strips with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
2. Cook the Chicken
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes until golden with beautiful grill marks. Remove and set aside.
3. Sauté the Vegetables
Add sliced peppers and onions to the same skillet and cook for 5 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
4. Combine
Return the chicken to the skillet and toss everything together. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until hot and sizzling.
5. Serve
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve immediately with warm tortillas, guacamole, salsa, and lime wedges.
