Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Caramel Sauce

  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 5–6 minutes until the apples begin to soften.
  3. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the apple mixture. Cook for 1 minute until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6 equal squares.
  5. Score a smaller square inside each piece, leaving a border around the edges. Do not cut all the way through.
  6. Spoon the apple mixture into the center of each square and drizzle with a little caramel sauce.
  7. Brush the pastry edges with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
