Ingredients
For the Liège Waffles
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- ½ cup warm milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup pearl sugar
For Serving
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh raspberries
- Caramel sauce or honey
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add eggs, vanilla, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Incorporate the softened butter and knead until smooth.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Fold in the pearl sugar and divide the dough into 8 portions.
- Heat a waffle iron and cook each portion for 3–4 minutes, until deeply golden and caramelized.
- Place a warm waffle on a plate and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
- Garnish with fresh blueberries and raspberries.
