THE ULTIMATE CLASSIC CLUB SANDWICH RECIPE – Crispy Bacon, Juicy Chicken & Perfectly Toasted Bread

This Ultimate Classic Club Sandwich is everything you want in a satisfying homemade meal. Layers of golden toasted bread, juicy chicken breast, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and creamy mayonnaise come together to create the perfect balance of flavor and texture. Ingredients

  • 6 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 chicken breasts (or 2 cups cooked chicken), seasoned and cooked
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 4 lettuce leaves (Romaine or iceberg)
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened (optional, for toasting)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Toothpicks, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper, then cook in a skillet until golden and fully cooked. Slice into thin pieces.
  3. Toast the bread until golden and crisp. Lightly butter the toast if desired.
  4. Mix the mayonnaise with the Dijon mustard, if using, and spread it evenly over one side of each slice of toast.
  5. On the first slice, layer lettuce, tomato, and half of the sliced chicken.
  6. Place a second slice of toast on top, mayonnaise side down, then spread more mayonnaise on the top side.
  7. Add the crispy bacon, the remaining chicken, lettuce, and tomato.
  8. Finish with the third slice of toast, mayonnaise side down.
  9. Secure the sandwich with four toothpicks and cut diagonally into four triangles.
  10. Serve immediately with French fries, potato chips, coleslaw, or a fresh green salad.
