Ingredients
- 3 cups (375 g) bread flour
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1¼ cups warm water
- 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 fresh jalapeños, seeded and diced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Extra shredded cheddar for topping
- Jalapeño slices for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the warm water, honey, and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
2. Add the Fillings
Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños until evenly distributed.
3. Let the Dough Rise
Cover the bowl and let the dough rise at room temperature for 1½–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
4. Shape and Bake
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or Dutch oven. Sprinkle with extra cheddar cheese and jalapeño slices.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until deeply golden and crusty.
5. Cool and Serve
