Ingredients
Seafood Filling
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ lb (225 g) sea scallops
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup seafood broth or chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Bread Bowls
- 4 small round sourdough bread bowls
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Cut the tops off the bread bowls and hollow out the centers, leaving a thick shell.
- Brush the inside lightly with olive oil.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes until lightly crisp.
- Meanwhile, season shrimp and scallops with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear scallops for 2 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Pour in broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Return seafood to the skillet and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in fresh parsley.
- Spoon the creamy seafood mixture into the toasted bread bowls.
- Garnish with extra parsley and Parmesan.
- Serve immediately while hot.
