HOMEMADE MANGO MOCHI WITH CREAMY FILLING AND SWEET JUICY MANGO CENTER

Soft, chewy, and irresistibly creamy, this Homemade Mango Mochi features a luscious mango filling wrapped in delicate mochi dough. With its tropical flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture, this elegant dessert is perfect for summer gatherings, afternoon treats, or whenever you’re craving something sweet and unique.

Ingredients

For the Mochi Dough

  • 1 cup (120 g) glutinous rice flour
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Cornstarch, for dusting

For the Filling

  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  2. Fold in some of the diced mango and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix glutinous rice flour, sugar, milk, and oil until smooth.
  4. Cover loosely and microwave for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir well and microwave for another 1–2 minutes until the dough becomes thick and translucent.
  6. Dust a work surface with cornstarch.
  7. Transfer the warm mochi dough and let it cool slightly.
  8. Divide into 6 equal portions and flatten each into a circle.
  9. Place a spoonful of whipped cream filling and a few mango cubes in the center.
  10. Carefully pinch the edges together to seal.
  11. Turn the mochi seam-side down and shape into smooth rounds.
  12. Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving.
