Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onions in a clean glass jar.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt.
  3. Heat until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  4. Pour the warm liquid over the onions.
  5. Let cool to room temperature.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
