Soft on the inside and perfectly golden on the outside, this homemade herb bread is packed with fresh flavor and a delicious aroma. It’s the perfect side for soups, salads, or enjoyed warm with a little butter.
Ingrédients :
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add the olive oil, flour, salt, parsley, oregano, thyme, and garlic. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Lightly brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle with extra herbs if desired. Score the top with a sharp knife.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
- Let the bread cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
