This authentic Thai Massaman Curry is rich, creamy, and packed with tender beef, potatoes, and warm aromatic spices simmered in a luxurious coconut curry sauce. A comforting restaurant-quality dish that’s perfect for family dinners.
Ingrédients
- 700 g beef chuck, cubed
- 2 tbsp Massaman curry paste
- 1 can (400 ml) coconut milk
- 2 cups beef broth
- 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 onion, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Cooked jasmine rice for serving
Instructions
Step 1
Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add half the coconut milk and Massaman curry paste. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Step 2
Add the beef and stir to coat well with the curry mixture.
Step 3
Pour in the remaining coconut milk and beef broth.
Step 4
Add cinnamon stick and bay leaves. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 5
Cover and cook for 1½ hours until the beef becomes tender.
Step 6
Add potatoes and onions.
Step 7
Stir in fish sauce, brown sugar, and roasted peanuts.
Step 8
Simmer for another 25–30 minutes until the potatoes are soft and the sauce thickens.
Step 9
Remove cinnamon stick and bay leaves.
Step 10
Serve hot over jasmine rice and garnish with fresh cilantro and extra peanuts.
