Golden Rosemary Focaccia Bread

This homemade focaccia bread is soft, airy, and infused with rich olive oil and fragrant rosemary. With its crispy golden crust and fluffy interior, it’s perfect for dipping, serving alongside soups, or turning into delicious sandwiches. A simple bakery-style bread that’s surprisingly easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 500 g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 7 g (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 400 ml (1 ⅔ cups) warm water
  • 4 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for topping
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm water and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Grease a baking pan generously with olive oil.
  5. Transfer the dough to the pan and gently stretch it to fit.
  6. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  8. Drizzle the dough with the remaining olive oil.
  9. Use your fingertips to create dimples all over the surface.
  10. Sprinkle with rosemary and flaky sea salt.
  11. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
