Ingredients
For the Baklava
1 package (450 g) phyllo dough, thawed
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups (250 g) pistachios, finely chopped
½ cup (60 g) walnuts, finely chopped (optional)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Syrup
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
¾ cup (180 ml) water
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp orange blossom water (optional)

Crushed pistachios
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the chopped pistachios, walnuts, and cinnamon in a bowl.
Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each sheet with butter.
Spread a layer of pistachio mixture.
Continue layering phyllo and pistachios until all ingredients are used.
Finish with 8–10 sheets of phyllo on top.
Cut into squares or diamonds before baking.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
Meanwhile, prepare the syrup by simmering sugar, water, lemon juice, and honey for 10 minutes.
Pour the cooled syrup over the hot baklava.
Let sit for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Garnish with crushed pistachios before serving.
