Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 700 ml (24 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Β½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese and egg until smooth.
  6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
  7. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  9. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  11. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
