This Easy Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl features juicy chicken glazed in a rich homemade teriyaki sauce, served over fluffy rice with fresh broccoli. It’s a quick, flavorful dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights and better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. Steam the broccoli until tender-crisp.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat until golden and fully cooked.
  5. Pour in the teriyaki sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce until thickened.
  7. Slice the chicken and coat with the sauce.
  8. Assemble bowls with rice, broccoli, and teriyaki chicken.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
