Ultimate Homemade Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 banana, sliced lengthwise for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas.
  4. Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  5. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until just combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts if using.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Place the sliced banana on top.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
